K.P.Industries Ltd overhead conveyors keeps Bombardier flying…

KPI have recently completed an overhead conveyor system for Bombardier Belfast.

The overhead conveyor was supplied to present aircraft skins to a chemical milling plant which forms part of the manufacturing process for the Challenger and Q400 series aircraft.

The system was designed and installed by KPI to feed aircraft skins into flight bars with the alignment of the flight bar to the conveyor track being fully automated, the system comprised of 500m of heavy duty overhead conveyor 2-off powered drop section elevators and 5-off track alignment systems, the system allowed Bombardier to load 5-off skins into the chemical milling process when previously only one skin was possible per flight bar.

Bombardier undertakes $800m of work every year in its Belfast sites supporting its own range of regional aircraft including the Learjet 40 and 45, challenger and Q400 series.

K.P.Industries Ltd supply Boden Mail Order with conveyor system…

Through FM Nicholsons Ltd, KPI have recently supplied a conveyor system to Boden Mail Order for their new warehouse facility in Leicester, the system comprised of plastic slat belt conveyors and scissor lifts fitted with automatic access gates and was operated via wireless controls.

The system was designed to handle pallets of clothing weighing up to 1-tonne conveying them off a loading deck out onto the sorting floor, the slick operation included hand had wireless control units which the pallet truck operators had fixed to their units.

The project was designed, manufactured and installed by KPI including all site wiring and PLC programming.

The installation site was managed under CDM regulations by FM Nicholsons www.nicholson-group.co.uk who also supplied a large powered roller conveyor system running between two buildings through an overhead enclosed bridge.

K.P.Industries Ltd is currently working on a powered roller conveyor system to be supplied to BNFL Sellafield for handling drums of low grade contaminated waste.
